Awana is a global, nonprofit children’s ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love and serve the Lord. Awana reaches kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences.
Awana also equips ministry leaders and parents to reach and disciple kids who impact their generation with the gospel.
God is using the Awana program to raise up children, parents and leaders alike. Children’s lives are forever transformed. Volunteers grow in their spiritual walk as leaders. And families become stronger while churches build community through active involvement in the Awana program.
Here at Bridgeway Community Church, Awana meets every Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:30pm. This program is for children ages 3 years old (by July 1st) up to 6th grade. Each week the children learn about Jesus, memorize Bible verses, play games and enjoy special events.
A typical evening at Awana begins with the whole club opening with prayer, saying the pledge of allegiance, singing the Awana song and having a short lesson. Next the kids will be dismissed to their individual clubs.
Cubbies is for pre-schoolers, ages 3-4 years old. A child must turn 3 yrs by July 1st and all children must be potty trained. Each week Cubbies will get to see a puppet show, learn a new bible verse and have a short bible lesson.
The Sparks club is for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The Sparkies learn about the people and events of the Bible, memorize verses and play fun games.
Truth & Training includes children in 3rd through 6th grade. T & T engages the kids by answering their questions about God and the Bible. During their lesson time they might learn about a missionary, learn about a person in the bible or play a trivia game. They also spend time memorizing verses and have fun game time.
We would love to have your child join the fun!
